One of the primary differentiators that TheSubdivision.com has to offer customers when choosing a website for their neighborhood, subdivision, or other community is free upgrades, updates, bug fixes, and enhancements. TheSubdivision.com is backed by RazorTools, the content management system developed and owned by RazorBall.Net. As new features are added to RazorTools by RazorBall.Net, TheSubdivision.com customers enjoy the benefits; and we make updates monthly! We Listen To Our Customers! TheSubdivision.com is a division of RazorBall.Net. As mentioned on the About page, RazorBall.Net and TheSubdivision.com were established in 2001 - both with RazorTools as the backing content management system. Since that time, RazorTools has greatly evolved and RazorBall.Net has continued to innovate and keep on top of new technologies - adding new features to RazorTools. However, the greatest influence on our product has been our customers! We continually listen to new customers and existing customers to understand what new features are needed, to listen to what areas of RazorTools are causing confusion, to monitor for errors experienced by customers, and to understand how enhancements can be made. As we identify bugs, improvements, usability issues, or otherwise, we document these - we are documenting changes and upgrades daily. However, unlike many of our competitors, as we fix these bugs, or make the enhancements, or add functionality - ALL CUSTOMERS BENEFIT! Whether you are a small company with 50 employees and a website through RazorBall.Net or you are a small subdivision with 40 homes and a website through TheSubdivision.com - everyone benefits. So Do I Need to Download and Install Updates? Simply put, No! RazorTools has been built on an architecture that automatically updates customer websites. As bugs are fixes and enhancements are made, your community website will "automagically" benefit from these updates - without you doing anything! Much thought and upfront design went into this system architecture, allowing you to greatly benefit by gaining a powerful, robust, multi-functional, and usable website, all at a low and affordable cost. So You Make Changes to My Website without My Knowledge? It is not quite that simple - there are two answers. First, if it is a bug which is found or an error which is being experienced then yes - bugs and errors are fixed and all customer's websites are automatically corrected (this is a good thing). However, if it is a feature enhancement, a new feature, a new function of our product, or anything other than a bug or error being fixed, then your website is not changed. What happens in the latter instance is that we automatically upgrade your website to recognize the new features or enhancements; however, changes are not made to your website until you activate the changes. An example of this would be if a new feature was added to our product. For instance, if we were to add the ability for photo albums to automatically launch a slide-show. When this feature would be added to RazorTools, it would be in an "Off" state by default. Meaning all existing customer website which were using photo albums would not change. However, next time you logged in to your website as an administrator to make changes, you may notice a new option to make a photo album a slide-show; at which time you could choose to do so. Thus, as we make upgrades and enhancements, we make a point to not change any existing websites, but instead give the existing websites the ability to benefit from the enhancements if they desire. Summary Our upgrade process is powerful and our customers love getting new functionality at no additional cost. However, the process can seem intimidating and confusing to some customers. We can assure you that everything is done in the best interest of the customer - whether a new customer or an existing customer - we recognize that our customers are the most important part of our business. If you have questions or if you would like to learn more about our upgrade process, please do not hesitate to contact us to ask questions. |
